Afternoon Tea for the Totally Useless SAL

'Taking tea is one of the quintessentially English occasions' is a quote from 'The Ritz London Book of afternoon tea' by Helen Simpson. So the ort jar for The Totally Useless SAL had a treat this month, not quite the Ritz as you can see if you check out their website here.

The flask now contains some glow in the dark orts which make it look quite spooky at night.

Regulars to this blog will know that I stitch in the car, on trains and that I usually have a small project that fits into the handbag on me most of the time. So, I now have a 'mobile ort jar', well that's better than calling it an old Parmesan Cheese tub. Not to be out done it also had afternoon tea.

It really has been quite hot here today and I think I need to have a lie down in the relative cool of The Stash Room.

'More tea Vicar?'

lmbo Jen. The orts look happy as heck being invited to tea. Love the china pattern (and the P/C tub, too). Stitch happy this week-end. :)

You are just too much! How can anybody compete with your wit? I just took a picture of my ort jar and called it good.
However, I should have taken it on my trip to the Hamptons and sat it in the chair and taken a picture. Collecting threads by the ritzy sea!
Instead my son took a picture of me stitching by the sea in that chair which he has not sent me yet. Bummer!
Love both of your ort jars and you are a hoot!
Can't wait to see what next month brings.
God Bless ~

Karen's sure got it right, my Totally Useless Container is very very jealous!!! Love the Midnight Ride, that really is fab. Your MaryW is beautiful, I'm really wishing I had gone with monochrome.

A mixture of essential oils in olive oil is extremely cheap, easy to use and very effective against bug bites. It's the only thing we use at my house as I don't like all the yucky chemicals (and expense) in bug sprays. If you are interested, e-mail me and I'll give you a good recipe.

Oh, what a lovely visit I had whilst taking tea with you and the Vicar and your most charming TUSAL flask, Jen! And what a delight to discover you also share a love of my absolute favourite china... not to mention all the beautiful stitching you shared with me... Indeed, quite a most delightful afternoon, my dear! :)

I do hope your bites are better by now! And Mary Wigham is gorgeous as is all your stitching and I do love your Midnight Ride! :)

Blessings always in stitches...
Lizzy
